What is included in a private wine tour in the Beaujolais region?

All of our wine tours in the Beaujolais region departing from Lyon include transportation (with pick-up and drop-off at your accommodation), visits to two carefully selected wineries, and guided tastings led by local winemakers. Lunch at a restaurant is also included (usually a three-course meal with wine). This allows you to fully enjoy the experience without worrying about logistics or payment.

Do you offer wine-tasting experiences outside of the Beaujolais region?

Yes, I also offer private wine tours in the regions around Lyon: Bugey, Coteaux du Lyonnais, Mâconnais, and the Rhône Valley. My goal is to help each visitor discover a piece of France’s heritage through wine and gastronomy. Beaujolais remains my favorite region, but the other regions around Lyon are also magnificent, and their wines are delicious!

Can the wine tour be held over several days?

Of course! My clients often ask me to plan a relaxing getaway that gives them time to explore the wine region. My itineraries can range from a single day to several weeks, depending on your preferences and schedule.

Our private wine tours have been designed around encounters, discoveries and withe the desire to share these off-the-beaten-track locations.

Sample itinerary for the day:

10:00 AM - Pickup at your hotel and departure for your chosen region (Beaujolais, Mâconnais, or the Rhône Valley)
11:00 AM - First winery: tour of the vineyards, fermentation cellar, and aging cellar, followed by a tasting of the winery’s wines with the winemaker 
12:30 PM - Lunch at an iconic bistronomic restaurant in the region, full menu with wine (included in the package) 
3:00 PM - Second winery: tour of the vineyards, fermentation cellar, and aging cellar, followed by a tasting of the winery’s wines with the winemaker 
5:00/5:30 PM - Return to your hotel or another location in Lyon

Note: This itinerary can be customized to suit your preferences and schedule. We can start later or earlier, adjust the format to visit just one estate, or add a third. Visiting more than three estates makes for a very packed day and doesn’t allow you to fully enjoy the experience.

Each tour includes two tastings at confidential wineries, sometimes closed to the public, accompanied by the winemaker, who will describe his or her work and the methods used to produce the wines. It also includes a lunch at a local bistronomic restaurant is also included with a full menu featuring wine and food pairings.

The opportunity to discover the appellations and crus that characterize the wine region: Morgon, Fleurie or Moulin à Vent in the Beaujolais; Saint-Véran and Pouilly-Fuissé in the Mâconnais; Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu or Saint-Joseph in the Rhône Valley.

We adapt to all your requirements and assist you in organising your stay in Lyon and the surrounding area. For example, we can pick you up at the airport and take you directly to your tour. The rest of the time, we will pick you up at your accommodation and drop you off at the same address or elsewhere once the private tour is over.
